Oh, the Possibilities!

Whit and Amanda's original dream of opening up a youth center as a venue for middle school, high school, and college kids is getting close. I'm excited to be a part of it!!! The first time I heard about it, I knew it was something to be a part of. We're currently looking at a space (the old Sea Largo restaurant) where kids can come in after school and be in a secure environment long enough to pursue their studies, have fun, and learn about God!

In case you haven't already gleaned this...I'M FREAKIN' PUMPED ABOUT IT!

If God provides us with the will, then He will provide the way. We just need people to become involved as much as they can be in their time, their money, and their love. Even if God doesn't let us get this building now, it's the first step into doing this thing FOR REAL! And it could also mean that He has much bigger plans for us! We all want to be part of something big, but it will be awesome to get at least a little something started.

I have to admit that sometimes I wonder if we are really ready for this. I don't doubt our abilities, but I want to do this the right way because God, and the kids, deserve our best. And if we can't give that, then we should probably wait a little bit. The most we'll have to wait is three or four more years. Now's the time to get going!

We know so many people who could help. We know designers, engineers, construction workers, psychology majors, business majors, computer nerds, communications people, college students, musicians and so many more! We have the people-- thank God for them-- and the will and the faith. Praise God! We're unstoppable even when we don't feel like we are.

Hope that this inspires someone out there, cause we need your help! Jesus Reigns! Good night!

Special Events

Well, it has been a while since I blogged it up on this site. A lot of things have been happening in the past couple of weeks. I've been busy with school and with birthdays while honoring God in all that I do.

It's been kind of hectic these past few weeks, but cool. I have to focus more on my studies though. Even though I go to class and do my classwork and homework, I've been slacking on my self-studying, reading, and writing. The term is half-way through already, and I need to buckle down.

It's been hard to focus for a few reasons...well one reason: I have too much fun at Church and Ignite on the weekends. Plus, I have awesome friends whom I get to hang out with! It makes school so boring and mundane, but I have to be there in order to serve God both now and in the future.

Well, this entry was just an update. Now, I'm off to write thank-you notes, study, and write some sermons and poems and such (translated: me-time). Everyone have an awesome day!

Sunday Awesomeness!

Good news! 413 (updated number!) people were baptized at NewSpring Sunday! I loved Perry's prayer before we began dunking:

"Lord Jesus....thank you. Amen."

I was one of the baptistees! Matthew Broderick was my baptizo buddy, which was awesome. Thanks to all the Ignite leaders, family and friends that were there to support us and everyone else who got baptized... it was awesome!

Afterwards, I spoke with my girlfriend, Whitney King (she's awesome, by the way). I told her that now my ministry can truly begin. I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE TAKEN THE STEP OF BEING BAPTIZED!!! It pumps me up!

Today starts week 2 of the Facebook "NewSpring Church" event campaign. We're using Facebook to reach networks to reach people to get them to church or at least sow the seed of thought that will help them to come to Church and accept Christ. That is the GOAL!

Check out Perry's Blog entry if ya get a chance!
